Mrs. Foreman joined BASIS Charter Schools in Arizona as the Director of Student Affairs at BASIS Peoria Primary and then most recently served as Head of School at BASIS Flagstaff. Serving as Founding Head of School for BASIS Benbrook Primary is something that allows her to pair her marketing and educational background along with her love for primary school. This move also brings her closer to family residing in the Fort Worth area.
Mrs. Foreman holds a BA in Business Administration Marketing, which led her to work in product development and international marketing. She realized her passion for helping children learn and grow when she started her own family, so she returned to school to pursue a BA in Education and an MA in Curriculum & Instruction. Prior to joining BASIS Charter Schools, she helped open two K-8 schools in growing markets within Arizona, served as a K–8 classroom teacher; Regional Trainer; Curriculum and Assessment Developer; Gifted Trainer; and as Curriculum, Instruction, and Intervention Specialist. She also spent ten years mentoring new Mandarin teachers in a Mandarin immersion school and traveled to China with a Chinese Bridge.
Delegation to learn and share about international education. She holds endorsements in Elementary Education, Structured English Immersion, and Early Childhood Education.
Mrs. Foreman is excited to grow a school in Benbrook and begin to share the vision and mission of BASIS Charter Schools with students and families in and around the Fort Worth area.
Megan Harmeyer joined the BASIS Charter Schools network in early 2021 as a Teaching Fellow at one of our top campuses, BASIS Phoenix. She was also a long-term substitute teacher for French classes for both middle school and high school grades. After an exceptional year of serving students and fellow educators, at the end of the 2020-21 school year, Mrs. Harmeyer was promoted to Dean of Students at BASIS Phoenix. During the 2021-22 school year, while serving as Dean, Mrs. Harmeyer also assumed the role of School Admin Mentor (SAM). The SAM role consists of being the point of contact for all grade 5-12 Deans in the BASIS Charter School network in Arizona, Louisiana, Texas, and Washington, D.C. This role fostered an ability for Mrs. Harmeyer to share and learn best practices, dive deeply into various and vital parts of the BASIS Charter School Curriculum, and form helpful connections that she otherwise would not have been able to.
Mrs. Harmeyer is delighted at the opportunity to serve BASIS Charter School students in the Ft. Worth-Benbrook area as our Director of Academic Programs.
